James McDonald is a British interior photographer and writer.
Aside from interior photography, his work includes private commissions for Middle Eastern royalty and European families, and has assisted Sotheby's with books for private clients.
James is also the author and photographer of Alnwick Castle - The Home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Published by Frances Lincoln in June 2012, the foreword is by the Duchess of Northumberland. "Alnwick Castle" is illustrated with over 200 photographs and details the history of the Percy family, the renovations of the state rooms and describes the private family and household rooms, as well as Hulne Park and The Alnwick Garden.
James has had commissions from publications such as: World of Interiors, Vogue Nippon, House & Garden (South Africa), Vogue China, Irish Independent Magazine, Image Interiors, Saturday Telegraph Magazine, English Home, Vogue India, Architectural Digest Deutschland, House & Garden and Vogue Living.
